Sept. 21, 2017

Sierra Title of Hidalgo County Inc., is proud to recognize Matt Wilson, Vice-President of Escrow Operations who was honored by State Senator Eddie Lucio and the Rio Grande Valley Habitat for Humanity for his dedication and service to their organization and for his commitment to helping people in need. Matt has served for three years as Board Chairman of the Rio Grande Valley chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

During the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, employees of Sierra Title of Hidalgo County got together and gathered new articles such as blankets, pillows, bath towels, bottled water and non- perishable food items to send to the hurricane victims. Matt, accompanied by his friend Jordan King, representing the KingLawFirm, drove to Rockport and Victoria to distribute the articles collected by Sierra. Matt and Jordan also donated their time and effort by helping Habitat of Humanity to remove downed trees and repair some of the homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The employees of Sierra Title Company, Inc., the company’s El Paso operation, collected and donated water, food supplies, diapers and other items, which they shipped from far West Texas for the relief of individuals impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

The employees of Sierra Title of Cameron and Willacy Counties donated $1,500.00 to Habitat so supplies could be purchased before their volunteers went to aid the many victims of Hurricane Harvey. Those funds had been raised throughout the year through the company’s Casual Dress Friday Fund, which was collected on a weekly basis from those employees who chose to wear jeans to work on Fridays. This year, the company decided to donate those funds to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Sierra Title Company of Hidalgo County, Inc., Sierra Title of Cameron and Willacy Counties, and Sierra Title Company Inc. (El Paso), have a long-standing culture of extending help to those people in need. The example above is just one of many times our companies have joined together with our employees and other community-based organizations to help people in need and give back to the communities which we serve.
